About

My name is Carlos Rabelo, and this domain has been online since 1998. It has been many things over the years — a personal site, a blog, a portfolio — and today it is a space where I share what I learn and build with technology.

My Journey

At 9, I had my first contact with electronics. At 14, I discovered computing. Since then, I have lived technology hands-on — not as a spectator, but as someone who has always wanted to understand how things work under the hood.

I started programming in Assembly, moved through Unix and Linux, and built a career that ranged from computer instructor to internet service provider founder. I worked at a software house, built custom web systems, and led network infrastructure projects.

In 2011, I turned to academia: I earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, combining practical experience with theoretical foundations.

In 2018, I took a new step: I joined the Brazilian federal public service at a technical school, in information technology. My role is not teaching classes, but using technology to drive innovation, improve processes, and support teaching and research. In parallel, I keep building programs, tools, and experiments on my own — because programming has always been part of who I am.

Posts

This space has existed since the days when blogs were personal diaries. It came back in 2018 as a new phase, with a clearer purpose: sharing the experiences of someone who lives technology day to day — inside and outside public service.

I write about programming, infrastructure, security, IoT, open source, educational technology, and whatever else comes up along the way. No promises of magic formulas — just real stories and knowledge accumulated over decades.

Codes

Beyond the articles, I maintain a Codes section with programs, scripts, and open-source projects I develop. It is where I get my hands dirty and share tools that may be useful to others.

If you are the kind of person who likes to roll up your sleeves with technology, this place is for you.
